Tai Chi in the Park Events

Dates for Summer 2023
Whitaker Park, Rawtenstall, Rossendale
Thursday 22nd & Sunday 25th June 
1.30pm - 2.30pm
This is our third year of free tai chi in this beautiful park. Enjoy the fresh air, the fabulous views and try tai chi with David & Helena from Lighthouse Tai Chi®, professional instructors who work for Rossendale Leisure.

The Mayor of Rossendale will open the first event and there will be a performance by Az Kabile Tribal Dancers
We are supported by Rossendale Leisure Trust, Rossendale Borough Council and Sykeside Country House Hotel
To join the free follow along session in the park, just come along - do as much or as little as you wish. No previous experience required. Participation is at your own risk. All ages and abilities are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Thursdays 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th August

Our 9th Annual Summer Tai Chi in Pendle. The Mayor of Pendle will open the first event, followed by a performance by Northwind Tribal Dancers. The event will finish at 3pm on this date only.
Join David & Helena from Lighthouse Tai Chi® for a free follow along session - do as much or as little as you wish.
These events are sponsored by Pendle Borough Council, The Marsden Building Society and Pendle Leisure Trust
No previous experience required. Participation is at your own risk. All ages and abilities are welcome, and it is completely free. 
The park and café are wheelchair accessible.
Please remember sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, raincoat - prepare for British weather
Free parking is available. The Pavilion Café is open to support the event.

Embodying Tai Chi in the Sword by Judith van Drooge

Our guest blog for August is by  Judith Van Drooge.  Judith is a very accomplished tai chi instructor whom we have admired for many years, and is particularly known to us for her tai chi sword expertise and passion for sharing.  We asked her to provide a short, personal article about her feelings and experience of tai chi sword, with some links for you to find out more. She has practised Yang Lineage Tai Chi Chuan with Luis Molera and Grandmaster William C.C. Chen since 1999, with great pleasure and devotion.
